Walkable London first presented at Active Travel Summit
London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, Will Norman, unveiled the Mayor's new transport strategy aimed to encourage Londoners to walk and cycle more. Architect Patrik Schumacher, principal of Zaha Hadid Architects, presented a radical proposal for walkability of the capital. “All over the world, we have noticed the trend towards pedestrianising whole districts rather than individual streets”, he said. “To make walking part of a daily routine, we need a full pedestrian network which would contribute to the means of transport across the city.” His presentation can be viewed here.
